The solar system consists of the Sun and all the celestial bodies that
are bound to it by gravity, including eight planets, their moons, dwarf
planets, and countless smaller objects like asteroids and comets.
The eight major planets, in order from the Sun, are Mercury, Venus,
Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.
The solar system is approximately 4.6 billion years old and is part of
the Milky Way galaxy.
